Attackers also used metal bars to smash five police cars. Three windows of the station were broken.
Fireworks are now routinely used by gangs to head off police in neighbourhoods known for drug trafficking. Firefighters on rescue missions also come under attack.
“The little bosses impress no one and don’t discourage us in our fight against drugs,” the Interior Minister tweeted earlier. There have been no recognized arrests.
Investigators have been nonetheless looking for the three males who shot two law enforcement officials final week after pulling them from their automobile and disarming them in an industrial part of the city of Herblay, within the Val d’Oise northwest of Paris.
