Japan’s authorities has complained of “relentless” intrusions in waters across the group of islets claimed by each nations. The contested territory accommodates islands referred to as the Senkaku in Japan and the Diaoyu in China.

Two Chinese Coast Guard ships entered the waters at about 10:45 a.m. (0145 GMT) on Sunday and approached a Japanese fishing boat, the Kyodo information company mentioned. The Japanese Coast Guard deployed patrol boats to the realm, Kyodo mentioned.

The Chinese international ministry didn’t instantly reply to a Reuters request for remark. The defence ministry couldn’t instantly be reached.
