A new child child boy was discovered close to Sri Vishwaradhya Gadduge in Abbetumkur village in Yadgir taluk on Monday.
The child, rapped with fabric, was discovered when any person went for providing puja to the gadduge.
Officials of Women and Child Welfare Department and the police rushed the spot and rescued the newborn.
Prabhakar, Deputy Director of Women and Child Welfare Department, advised The Hindu that the newborn, weighing 2.5 kg, is wholesome. It is getting therapy at Sick Newborn Care Unit ( SNCU) within the district hospital in Yadgir.
This is the second child boy present in Yadgir. 15 days in the past a child boy discovered close to Mundaragi village on the outskirts of Yadgir city.
The child discovered on Monday will probably be shifted to Kalaburagi hospital tomorrow, Mr. Prabhakar mentioned.
