England supervisor Gareth Southgate has hit out on the calls for being positioned on gamers after Liverpool central defender Joe Gomez suffered a knee damage in coaching on Wednesday forward of Thursday’s pleasant in opposition to Ireland.
Gomez has been withdrawn from the England squad and despatched again to the Premier League champions.
“I can’t tell you how serious it is because he is yet to have scans,” Southgate instructed reporters at his pre-match information convention.
“What was upsetting to see, he was in a fair bit of pain. There was nobody around him when the injury happened. I didn’t like that element of it.”
While Gomez’s damage is disappointing for Southgate forward of the Ireland sport and Nations League matches in opposition to Belgium and Iceland, it’s probably an enormous blow for Liverpool who was already with out key central defender Virgil van Dijk due to a season-ending knee damage.
“We’re all hopeful for him that it’s not what it might be. But it’s not a good situation,” Southgate mentioned. “We can’t speculate but my immediate thoughts are with him.
